Beautiful Couples of Yesteryear

I've finally started to get into Pinterest and yes, it's a grand ol' time. Though, I'm a bit perturbed that I've found yet another thing to amuse me online (like there aren't enough of those already)!

As much fun as I'm having Pinning outfits and hair that I'll never have or pull off, I'm actually way more into my "Historical Musings" album.

I've realized the last couple years that I'm a wannabe history buff. Of course I don't chew wheat and sit on my front porch telling you about the good ol' days but I can certainly regurgitate facts that I've consumed via books, documentaries and websites these last few years. Though, I think this interest may just be a rite of passage for most once you wrap your mind around the fact that you and your bad perm at Prom aren't the most pressing worldy issues. It also helps to have a good gateway drug into historical storylines, like SAYYYYY if Leonardo DiCaprio entices you to learn all about the Titanic. You get my jist?

But regardless of why or how, I'm very much into the players of the past. Such as these coupley shots from my Pinboard that have me in love:

Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta

George Harrison & Pattie Boyd (Eric Clapton's muse for 'Layla')

Marilyn Monroe & Clark Gable

The Kennedys.

Lucille Ball & Ricky Ricardo

And then there's us...

pretending we live in the 60s.

I have to admit though, those pics of Lucille Ball & John Travolta had me smiling ear to ear. And I would so learn ALL about the Titanic for Leonardo...hahaha

Awwwwww! Clark Gable is so HOT and so obviously he and Marilyn are my favorite shot. Mmmmm....

Pinterest is so fun. I used to surf ALL THE TIME at my old job b/c I would get so bored filling in for the receptionist. I got a ton of ideas though. Ha!

Fantastic photos! Love the one with George Harrison and Patti Boyd. Marilyn Monroe was a bit risque, wasn't she? I'm sure the right-wing-nuts would like to censor her even today. I recognize DevonESawa in that last photo, but who's that pretty starlet he's out with?

Caitlin, I just found your blog and I LOVE it!! Omggg Pinterest looks so cool but I still cannot justify getting on it right now... from what I've seen, I'd get horribly obsessed and fall down the rabbit hole of cool photos... and then I'd never get anything done! Keep the cool and funny posts coming though, chica.. so glad I found this!
