Startorialist

I've been having the most fun practicing all the techniques from my digital photography class. Now (drumroll please), I am beginning to know the full scope of capabilities that my camera possesses in Manual setting - which makes shooting that much more enjoyable because I've gained a little control. And, you know what- I like being a wee bit drunk with power.

On to the model who lets me snap shots of him as we do our weekend downtown perusing:
So as I continue to finesse my skills through education and equipment, for now, I get to simply MARVEL at these images I took of my Boyfriend. Who to me looks pretty darn near perfect here. And because we're downtown folk, I like the urban vibe setting the tone. But in case you were wondering, we had no interest in going into Mary's (<=link NSFW) after hanging out downtown. Just too tired to want to enter a place that smells like mildewed towels and Zach Galifianakis belly-button.. sorry Strippers, maybe next time.

All images are from my camera and taken at Departure Lounge and on Broadway Street outside of Mary's Club (linked above, NSFW) in Portland, Oregon.

How is your Tuesday?

These look great! If I ever get a nice camera I definitely should take a class and try to learn how to actually get something out of it :)

You take awesome pictures, Caitlin - I love these! BTW...I was watching 'Final Destination' this past weekend, which is why this is in my head right now, but The Boy totally looks like Devon Sawa. Right or wrong?

P.S. I don't follow Rihanna on Instagram (though I'm totally going to now!), but from what I've seen in the news as of late I've been thinking the same thing. :/

I've been trying to learn how to take better photos with my digital camera and it's working but it'll never be like a DSLR which I'm hoping to buy one day!

Awesome pictures!! and yes, the best is to shoot on Manual. Once I started having more control of my camera settings, I figured it was more comfy to use Manual.
Enjoy!

Your boyfriend looks fantastic! I agree, he does look pretty darn near perfect. Oooh! Non-alcoholic beverage, Jalapeno poppers and a female staff at Mary's? That sounds good but Id prefer someplace where I was the one performing for a female audience - only I'd have to learn and follow your workout regimen for about 5 years first or take up my guitar playing again. Your boyfriend could probably be a performer but I'm sure the two of you have much more fun things to do. I still can't get over what a lovely trip to Hawaii the two of you went on!

I love reading your blog. I've never been to Oregan, but the long-lost love I referred to lived in Portland at one time (with someone else) sniff, sniff. It's great getting to see what Portland looks like and read about it. Love your BF pics!!! He'd look great in a movie or on TV.
