Well, good morning all. How was your weekend? I actually had a pretty good one and feel more depressed than usual in knowing that I have to head to work. Oh well, the weekends wouldn't be as sweet without the sour, I suppose. But consider THIS my face as my alarm clock went off this morning.
On Friday night, I gathered at a local watering hole to celebrate the birth of two of our very good guy friends (one pictured above). It was fun to see everyone and I hadn't been 'out' in a long while so I actually enjoyed myself. The repetition of going to the same places every weekend had long waned on me and turned most weekends into the plot of "Groundhog Day" so I was elated to discover that my break actually did me some good.

Woke up to the.most.gorgeous.day. and had a protein-filled breakfast of scrambled eggs with jalapenos and green peppers; half a piece of toast, protein smoothie and of course, a huge Americano. I thought it was the perfect power breakfast HOWEVER- I found myself in a bit of discomfort for the beginning of my 4-mile run. I'm already a horrible runner who snorts like a pug for the first 15-minutes so the added roadblock was not appreciated.
|Taking long walks around the neighborhood allll day long, capped off with a Sushi dinner a few blocks down. The weather was beautiful, my body was buzzin' from my run and I just felt great, happy and relaxed. Wish I felt that good every day!|
Paparazzi'ed The Boy on his run, went on a Bridge Walk for a Lazy Sunday workout and watched the Superbowl with some very missed food. Oh yum. The Boy insisted we deserved a big ol' cheat day from our food regimen. So, I decided that anything worth doing wrong was worth doing right and promptly went to Popeye's Chicken for game day snacks. The most embarrassing part? The fact that I'm not embarrassed by this. However, watching Beyonce perform did force me to cut my portions in half. And about the game: I didn't have a dog in the fight so I just rooted for the 49'ers based on my motto: Westside til' I die (obviously).
So back to the desk. Boo! Though I am flying to Napa on Tuesday for work so that'll be a nice break in the montony albeit turn my Monday into quite the stress fest.
Here's to another week, wishing you the best!
